With Boccia being one of the world’s most inclusive sports, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in sport no matter their abilities and goals. Our mission is to provide high-quality Boccia opportunities so that everyone has a chance to achieve their fun, social and/or competitive goals.
Whether you’re new to Boccia or looking to continue your journey, we’d love to welcome you.
Meet the founder
Jamieson Leeson is an Australian Paralympian in boccia, a passionate advocate for inclusive sport and the founder of Sydney Blazers Boccia Club.
Growing up in Central West NSW, Jamieson experienced firsthand what it was like to be a sports fan without accessible sports to participate in near her home. Through dedication and perseverance, she was able to reach the highest level in her sport, whilst still battling accessibility issues with training and coaching. With no local boccia clubs near her new home in central Sydney, she realised change needed to happen, and the Sydney Blazers Boccia Club was created.
Through her experience competing at the lowest and highest levels, Jamieson has seen first-hand the power of boccia to build confidence, independence, and community, as well as the barriers that can limit access to the sport at a grassroots level.
Jamieson’s lived experience as an elite athlete, and her role as the club coach, shape the club’s values, ensuring it is athlete-centred, inclusive, and focused on opportunity at every level.
